Hollywood's SFFD

From the SF Weekly:

A cyclist was taken to the hospital this morning after being hit by a car at the corner of Cortland Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard.

Officer Gordon Shyy had very little information at this time, but said the cyclist, whose condition is unknown, was at the intersection at about 8:37 a.m. when the accident occurred

The Weekly adds that Vicky Walker, Bernalwood’s own Minister of History, saw the injured cyclist receiving medical care.

Yikes! I hope the cyclist is OK. It’s nice that there’s a bike lane on Bayshore now, but I am not sure all the motorists have gotten used to it yet.

We passed by him too this morning. From our position at the stoplight we could see that his bike was pretty mangled.

Tried not to rubberneck on the way through so I don’t know what shape he was in, but he was at least conscious. I really hope he’s okay. Between that and seeing the boats searching for the missing guy along the Embarcadero, this morning was a total bummer.

Physical barriers along the bike lanes would be a pretty inexpensive solution to this problem. I bike Bayshore daily coming home fro SF State. I hope the cyclist is OK.
